Financial Adviser/Planner?

I’m really looking to becoming a Financial Adviser but I have some questions… Do all planners work on commission? or can they have a low base salary with some commission? They are a lot of job openings for Edward Jones where I live. I’m not that great of a salesman but I love stocks, and I feel like an Adviser would be a fun and exciting job…any info would help ..thanks!
