Independent Financial Advisors Fees
Independent Mortgage Advisor
Here is a question for you…….
Have you ever walked into an estate agents when looking at buying a house and been jumped upon with the question “What are you doing about your mortgage?”This gets mentioned to you even before they have asked what sort of house you would like. This is then followed by we have an independent advisor who has exclusive deals? The question you need to ask yourself is am I being told the complete truth?
Well having been one of these annoying estate agents in the past and been trained like a monkey word for word to try and convince the customer to come in for a chat you may understand where I’m coming from.
Even though you are told these advisors are independent the chances are they tick the Panelled lending box. The people with the whole of market option (Which is very few) are the ones you really want to speak to.
With this in mind I decided to set up an independent mortgage broker in Southampton who work’s closely along side smaller independent estate agents.
The company (MRP Associates Ltd) offers a very relaxed approach to the situation, and is quite unique in the fact that being a whole of market broker we do not charge a fee to the client. On top of this being able to offer life assurance products’ from the likes of companies such as Norwich Union, Liverpool Victoria, and Friends Provident to name but a few, it really is classed as a one stop shop!
I also decided to go out and spend a allot of money on a website www.mrp-associates.co.uk that the customer can actually use, rather then just looking at a selection of rates. The site is updated daily with all mortgage rates and the customer can even apply online via the broker.
If you are looking for a Mortgage Advisor in Southampton who is here to give you the best advice possible then pay us a visit.

I’m an Independent Financial Advisor.
Hire an independent financial advisor or follow advise from bank.?
I have about $50K to invest long term, however, I don’t trust financial advisors not am I informed enough to invest on my own. I have read about the MER and other expenses & fees that the companies you invest in plus the advisors take from the investor, but I also don’t want the 2% or 3% return given by banks if I’m able to invest for about 7 years. I basically want to know if I’m likely to keep more money by taking a bank’s advisor than an independent one. At the moment my understanding is that if I hire an advisor, my fees will pay advisor + fund manager, whereas if I go to bank advisor, I’ll just pay the fee for whatever fund I buy. I’m confused, any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
There is commission, management fees or costs associated with any type of investment.
The only advantage, or if you can call it one for investing with an advisor is that they are not just held to proprietary funds. Something that you might want to consider is this.
$50,000 by your standards might seem like a fair amount of monies. However, to properly diversify a stock portfolio you would be looking at an investment of approx. $150k +.
With that in mind. You might want to consider a company like http://www.vanguard.com. Vanguard has strong management, low management fees and they have trained professionals to help you diversify your funds.
Either way. You cannot avoid a company “profiting” from your investment. It’s how they survive.
Something else to consider when investing. Regardless of your age and current employment status. You never want to put all of your cash at risk. It would be smart to keep roughly 6 months of living expenses in liquid cash. Therefore, if anything should change in the near term. You are financially prepared for it.
Just my two cents.
