Financial Advisor Trainee Program
which one should I work for, waddell & reed or enterprise?
I got 2 interviews, waddell & reed as a financial advisor and enterprise as a management program trainee…In order to be a financial advisor I need to pass some exams…and I heard they don’t pay salary so there’s no guaranteed income…I’m a recent grad and which I should I choose?
I worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern. I did enjoy it but I chose to pursue another path upon graduations. Enterprise has great sales training. If you think that you want to puruse sales, Enterprise opens a lot of doors for you. Enterprise does offer a base pay so you are guaranteed a paycheck. You do not spend a lot of time at a desk at all. You mainly are helping customers, either picking them up or dropping them off. You meet the local business owners and market your services to them. It is a lot team work and problem solving. If you really like the job, Enterprise only promotes from within. You do need to pass examinations along the way.
I interviewed for many Financial Advisor Positions post-graduation and I chose not to take the position because of the current market crisis we are facing. It is true that many financial advisors are paid on commission and have to pass exams along the way. As a financial advisor, you need to get your own clients and pretty much start from nothing. And during these economic times, it may be very difficult to get started. However, once you enter the market and establish yourself as a financial advisor, the profits could be endless.
All in all it is up to you and what your current situation is.
