Wandering Mind: 529 education savings plans provide a world of possibilities

When Kelly decided that Davidson ¹ wanted to make the transition to a career high school teacher, knew he had to return to school to achieve its objective and would be costly.   • In box status menu, select "foreign country" for all eligible schools in other countries, or if the school is located in Canada, Mexico or any U.S. territory, you can refine your search by selecting your appropriate country

How does it work?

More than 4005 foreign higher education are eligible under federal rules that allow tax-free withdrawals from a 529 plan. A list of eligible foreign institutions is available in the database data from the Federal School Code Search for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) website.

"The test for including a particular school, their right to participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs," explains Joseph Hurley, founder of SavingforCollege.com.
